About me and what I do

About Me

My name is Sarah Gascoyne I am an Integrative Psychotherapist accredited by the UKCP. I offer a professional service adhering to the ethical codes of conduct as a professional member of both the UKCP and the the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute Ltd in Nottingham (SPTI). I receive clinical supervision by a BACP registered supervisor on a regular basis.

I offer a discreet, confidential, neutral, and supportive space to create an environment that helps you to feel safe and secure. I offer a warm, empathic, non judgemental approach to help you understand and explore the personal challenges and struggles you are experiencing. I endeavour to work collaboratively with you throughout our work starting with an initial 50 minute session free of charge to assess whether this is the right therapeutic environment for you.  If the environment is right, we will work together to create a therapeutic plan, reviewed on a continual basis, to help and support you to find ways to cope with, and work through, your personal challenges enabling you to move forward in a positive and healthy way. In the event that this is not the right therapeutic environment for you I will endeavour to support and help you to find alternative support.

What is Integrative Psychotherapy?

Integrative Psychotherapy uses a developmental-relational approach understanding the client's relationships and their way of being in the here and now, informed by the clients developmental history. By drawing upon different theories from different psychotherapeutic approaches, and using the client-therapist relationship as the central focus of the healing process, the client can start to understand their way of relating, being and functioning, gaining an understanding why they are experiencing their challenges and struggles. This enables them, with support and help, to heal, make changes and move forward in a positive and healthy way.
